WELCOME TO THE GROVE/SUMMER HILL SOCIAL

Welcome to The Grove / Summer Hill Social blog. I am fairly new in the neighborhood. Moving from the Quincy/Weymouth area, I found that I know very few people and have very few contacts. This blog will allow everyone to develop contacts (mechanics, electrician, plumbers etc.), as well as allowing anyone from the Grove or Summer Hill to voice their concerns, share their opinions or any news they feel would be of interest. Please feel free to share your thoughts. Hope to hear from everyone soon.

In the past, I expressed concern about J.B. Properties. I asked that the trustees consider hiring a different management company. The trustess were to get back to me on this subject. I have not heard from them yet. I will attempt contact them regarding this matter. If any other owner has any comments or concerns, please post on this blog.

Septic comments. When did these charges start and when do they stop?

I want to know why we need to get the little blue parking stickers for our cars and register them at the office if there is nothing we can do if someone parks in our spot. I have come home many nights and have had someone in my spot. I've called the cops and they tell me there is nothing they can do about it. So short of calling Paul at midnight I am now stuck looking for a place to park when I already have one that I pay for. Again, what is the point of paying for a parking spot, getting a parking permit and putting up parking signs that state you need to have a parking permit to park in the lot, if it is not going to be enforced and if we have no way to enforce it ourselves. There has got to be a better way.

I agree with the comment from bumpbust - why do we have parking stickers - why even the owners of Condo's here at Summerhill that know they are registered spots let their friends and family park in them regardless of who spot it is -or how about one tenant (who does not even owner) parks in his three cars - one goes in his alotted spot and the other two in the quests spots. When I brought my condo they told me that I was alotted two spots - I would like to know where my other spot is. We as tenants should have a meeting and go to the trustee's or better yet invited the trustee's!

Spectic comments - How does this added up:

One spectic problem left by Dolben Properties...

One Attorney from Boston (a friend of a friend) who was just going to look into for us...

Attorney states...Don't think it is worth anything but he would look into it...not even two months goes by - never hear any again only to receive a letter in the mail stating that we settled for $40,000.00 and the attorney cost was $20,000.00

Settlement for $40,000.00 - Lawyer gets $20,000.00 for his HARD work
that's PRICELESS!

i wish there are some play area for kids... maybe even just sand... so that my kids could meet new friends.. so could i.

I wholeheartedly agree with the sticker issue. I can't count the number of times I have come home and had to search for a parking space.
And I as well would like a little play area for children. I'd like my daughter to meet new friends, and maybe I can make some Mommy-friends, too!

from what i understand, for the new septic system. That we had our choice on how we could pay the increase in fees. We could pay 1 lump sum of 3000.00 up front or pay the increase in fee each month over 3 years. For us it started in January. It all stems from the previouse trustee stealing money. This is hear say to me, so I could be wrong as it all happened before i moved in with my now husband. I think i actually still have the newspaper article somewhere about it.

Summer Hill Social said...

Last week I left a memo for the trustess and I have still not heard back from them. I am still having a problem with the fact that JB Properties is our management company. Last week I left an article for the trustees that said that a condo association in New Jersey took an attorney to court after a settlement in which the attorney took half the settlement - does that sound familiar to anyone? I cannot for the life of me figure out where our condo fees are going - I only see Paul and Mark around and they can only do so much. This is really frustrating especially since I have asked for a meeting (without JB Properties) -

Summer Hill Social said...

To the moms - I agree we could provide a spot for kids to play, we have enough land. Also, I would like to have an area where we can all plant vegetables, etc. This place could be so nice - I would also like to have some sort of get together for all the owners.

That Guy said...

Is the septic fixed yet or are they still just trying to make money off everyone. I have lived here for 1 yr now and i still dont know my parking spot. Ive talked to a trustee who gave me a number then paul who gave me a diffrent number then 2 others at JB prop who gave me 2 diffrent numbers and all those spots have cars in them. Looks like I will just start parking in the fire lane with everyone else

I see quite a few comments about our management company. The parking as well all has to do with JB Properties; they need to be the ones enforcing this, not the maintenance team. So why are they still managing us?? From what I’ve heard and seen they don’t do anything for us owners. Can’t we have a meeting and try and get a company that cares about us!

That Guy said...

I agree that JB Properties does nothing except spend our money on who knows what. I think owners of the condos should be able to see where our money is going.

This is really sad since I am still waiting for the trustees to get back to me. I really would like them to set a meeting.

Im new to this blog and would just like to take a moment to introduce myself. Im Mark. There, now that the formalities are past us, allow me to interject my opinions on some of the recent posts (read: bitching) regarding the many hardships we endure everyday as we struggle in this rat-race of an existence we call life at the Summerhill Condominiums.
I understand the confusion many of us might be dealing with when we ponder the notion of our "assigned parking" spaces in the lots. "How are we to know which assigned spot is our second (or third, or fourth) parking spot for our condo?" Let me introduce this idea as a humble retort: "THATS WHAT THE F-ING 'G' SPOTS (no, not THOSE 'g spots') ARE FOR!!! Take a moment if you will, kind reader. Open your $13.99 Bed Bath & Beyond MANDATORY white mini-blinds, and examine the nearest parking lot. Do you see any open parking spaces? Oh, you do? Huh. Interesting. Can you speculate as to what those large spray-painted yellow hieroglyphic symbols indicate on some of the empty spots? OH!!! Its a "G"!!!! G is for GENERAL. Very good boys and girls.
Maybe instead of whining and complaining about "Where is my mother-in-law supposed to park her Land Rover... In my wife's spot? Not in mine! Certainly you cant expect her to park in a commoner's 'General Spot' ? Why, she'd be the laughingstock of the whole condo complex!!" Rather than complaining on a blog, you could make better use of your time by shitting in your hand and smearing it on your walls, and calling it " Impressionistic Modern Art". I promise you, there is no need for your stepdaughter or whoever the fuck, to park their 2001 Ford Taurus in a spot marked '2DB' as opposed to 'G'. The lack of a letter and number does not make the parking spot any less prestigious.
I know that this was only one example of the many oppressions voiced by you brave souls who care not of your own regard, but only that of your fellow condo-dwellers. For this, I say, "Thank You".
Your fellow freedom fighter,
Mark

Jb properties has been responsive to every inquiry I have called or e-mailed them about. They have provided me financials and have taken the time to explain the budget. Do you all forget that we have a sewer treatment that has $400,000 + of mandated DEP upgrades, or that 25% of our budget goes towards have a full time employee and 40% goes towards landscaping, snow, trash and the sewer treatment plant – not including the extra money needed for the upgrades. Do you forget that JBPS cleared up $120,000 of receivables for SH in under 1 year down to $12,000… the parking is a joke, but that’s not jbproperties fault or responsibility, its ours as residents and enforcement is done using the people that work for us 40 hours a week…. Get your facts straight people. We in fact have a great firm… if you have issues because your late in your condo. fee, or issued a late fee, or issued a fine - that is your problem… no one elses…

Anonymous said...

I definitely agree with “Mark” and “M” on the parking issue, there are general spots available and what do we expect our management company to sit outside and patrol the parking lot every day? If you want to single handedly pay for this parking patrol officer then be my guest but I know in this economy that’s the last thing I need to be paying my hard earned more for, a parking meter maid. If you have an issue then that’s what we pay for full time employees for. Write down the license plate number, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. As for the play area for your children, this is not a playground. You knew that when you moved here. We live in a beautiful town with many parks, take your kids to Morton Park, Forges Field, Stephens Field, West or Federal Furnace Elementary. These parks are there for a reason. Believe me I have dealt with quite a few management companies living in other Condo’s and we have it easy. I had a problem in my unit, I emailed jbproperties and they fixed everything for me. Maybe instead of complaining on a blog like Mark suggested you should get up and do something about it and make a phone call, they're very responsive. Or e-mail them that way you have actual proof of what happened/was said instead of unfounded accusations. And as I recall when I heard about this blog I thought it was to meet new people not waste 10 minutes of my time reading John Smith’s complaints about his personal issues.

Summer Hill Social said...

I totally disagree and I do not understand why Mark has to be so rude about our views. I can't believe that the new views are from homeowners and if they are I would like to meet them. I have no problem saying who I am and that I continually ask for a meeting with the trustees. I believe we all need to have a meeting to air this out.

Summer Hill Social said...

I also want to point out that if you don't like the blog and believe it is a waste of time, you do not have to read or write in it.

As far as the parking spots go, obviously Mark, M and Okon have not has trouble with people parking in their spots, especially on cold, snowy days.

I still would like to see a new property management company at Summerhill. Just because I choose to live in Plymouth, it does not mean I need to accept an arrangement that I believe is not in my best interest. We need a management company near us. I, too, have lived in another condo and when we had a problem with the company, we changed the company.

If we had a meeting we could discuss these issues.

OMG, I totally agree. Do ya think that M & Mark work for our Management Company??? Hm….It’s probably the owner of JB; Jeff writing all of this bull. Who else would know all of these financial and facts, HELLO….
This blog is for us owners to share our thoughts and views, not for your input. I cannot wait till we give them the AX!

Mark and M, whomever they are, responses are surely disrespectful and there is certainly a courteous and professional way to express oneself. With respect to the facts, we were all provided the budget, and it has all that information on their and breakdown. If you e-mailed or called jb, they would provide the information and discuss with you. Rather you chose a blog spewing off inaccurate misinformation… the choice is yours, but the action is to first become informed and knowledgeable of the operations and all that is involved – its not just about a blog or rules and regs, its about the ownership too and their responsibilities and as such, getting all the facts and information of which all you have to do is ask…

Addressed to: All the people who were offended due to the graphic nature of my last post.

Apologies to all those who were offended by the rants of a fellow ADULT. I wasn't aware that so many people would be up in arms regarding some phrases and words I conservatively sprinkled into my post to make it interesting and readable. Unlike the unentertaining, rambling drivel that is spewed fourth from other recent posts.
Now that I know, I will be sure to lead off my posts with a rating. Not unlike the rating system used in modern motion pictures. Todays rating will be "G.U." (GROW UP).
If reading a few colorful words and common truths is too much for you, then might I suggest you make better use of your time by looking up a new quiche recipe, or possibly just taking a nap. What you SHOULD NOT do, however, is clutter up this blog with whining so petty, a 3 year old would tell you to go f yourself.

Im confused as to what it is you people want. You ask: "where are our condo fees going?" Yet when numerous answers are brought to you by people who obviously have some type of knowledge as to the basic financial structures of our management company, you shoot them down as speculation, and rumor.
Do you think for one second that the OWNER of a property management firm is going to waste his/her f-ing time POSTING ON A BLOG? Use your heads, people. If someone has insight, or sounds as if their reports have some basis of fact behind them, lets move on! "M" had a very concise, and tactful explanation of where our money goes. Yet some of you assume he/she is affiliated with the management facility, and thereby disregard their post. Decide what it is you want from this blog. Then, actually MODERATE IT yourselves.

"OHKO", you need to pick a freakin stance and stick to it. In the post right after "M"'s you say you "definitely agree" with he and myself, then after 5 other posts of people saying how wrong I was, or how "rude" I was (*whaaa, sob, whaaa*). You abandon your original opinion, and follow the masses? Wow, now THAT's going against the grain! Good for you, you individual thinker!

This post has been brought to you by...The Truth .

This blog was set up for people to discuss various issues. If you do not like it, don't write on it.

Also, I have again requested that a meeting take place so all owners can express their views - since some people do not agree. Just because you like JB Properties does not mean everyone else has to like them. As far as providing information, I can't even get a meeting with the trustees to discuss these issues.

I still find Mark offensive - obviously and you can say something without swearing - swearing does not make you an adult.

First of all, I think this blog is a fantastic idea. It's really too bad that everyone can't be respectful of each other. This is supposed to be an open forum to express our concerns and join together for strength in numbers. It should not need censoring, however, Mark is incapable acting like an adult and should be banned from the blog since his comments are not constructive in the least bit. They are just down right mean and offensive. I question his morals, character, and intentions. To Mark: your words are not "colorful" and do not make your posts more "readable." You're rude and inconsiderate of your fellow neighbors and I am very disappointed and concerned that a character such as yourself resides in the same community I am raising my child in. Seriously, how many times do you have to be told that if you don't like the blog move on?! People like you who do not respect others are what's wrong with our society. I don't know if you're a property manager in wolf's clothing or an actual resident, but clearly you have nothing in common with actual concerned residents and you bring nothing useful to this forum, or this community and therefor maybe you should think about moving. The intent of ANY community, is to improve the quality of the environment and the lives of it's residents. If you do not agree with this, MOVE. Profanity is inappropriate and unnecessary. Even when it's not spelled out but implied. Furthermore, it shows a lack of intelligence. These posts should be REMOVED. If you can't play nice, go home.

Lo2006 said...

Secondly, I have to agree with the rest of the respectable and constructively concerned neighbors. I think we have one HUGE issue. Seeing this memo in the main entrance made me laugh... Summer Hill and the Groves are not created equal. We have separate costs as our condo fees are not the same across the board. We have separate and equally useless and ineffective Boards of Trustee's. We do however share the same pathetic excuse for a property management company. I too agree they are too far away. Any company managing a property outside their county is WAY too far from the cause. Not only is distance a hindrance of their performance, but their skills are seriously lacking. Want to actually succeed in being heard? You need voices. There is strength in numbers. However, they have kept us all segregated into two smaller communities (Hills verses Groves) to keep the numbers on their side. This is also why Dolben Properties has not been held accountable for the septic system. Summer Hill went bankrupt before it was finished being built, thus the new side verses the old side, gas heat verses electric heat. The septic was fine for the "old" Hills but Dolben knew it couldn't LEGALLY accommodate the knew buildings so they fudged what needed fudging to slip through the red tape like the snakes they are. THIS is why all suits against them have been LOST. WE DO NOT HAVE THE STRENGTH IN NUMBERS. I also wonder where the condo fee's go and am frustrated I will be forced to pay increases in condo fees every year for at least the next few years since this community is in the hole. It's not just from Karen stealing $100k+ either. Poor management is costing us more than we can afford. Did you also notice that when you bought your units you were told you have one assigned parking spot and one unassigned spot... But if you do the math there are not enough parking spaces to accommodate two vehicles per unit. The issue is not whether or not to park in a "general resident" spot, but the fact that there just aren't enough spots and some unit owners have more than two vehicles for there unit. In my building someone has four. What about the landscaper guy with all his equipment everywhere? I've heard he's been blocking and parking too close to fire hydrants which greatly concerns me as I have a child.
As for a play area for children: I think it would be fantastic, BUT there are issues with this. And we all did know there wasn't one when we moved in. I knew. I don't like it but I knew. It's possible to try to get one, but we also need to be prepared for the consequences. It's going to raise our insurance to cover the liability in the event someone is injured. There is the issue of non-residents coming in to use it since this is not a gated community. I also wouldn't want the play area near my building because of some of the parents who do not monitor their children or make them come inside at a reasonable hour. I would absolutely love one, but I do understand why it may not be feasible. I would, however, at least like to see all the signs gone that tell children not play on the grass or ride a bike or play with a ball. It's not right to teach children not to play outside. If there are older adults who want quiet or don't like children, they should look into adult communities where children are not allowed.

Lo2006 said...

Next, I also feel frustrated by the board of trustees. I would love to see the Groves and the Hills join forces and become ONE community with a larger board of NEW trustees. The currents boards should be impeached. I don't know about the Grove's Trustees but ours have done absolutely nothing to assist us. Our Trustees feel that since they have the label of being someone “important” in this community they feel they have the right to interpret our rules and regulations in place of enforcing them. I understand the convenience of not enforcing the rules, but they are there for a reason and supposed to protect us all. If a resident in ignorant enough to sign the condo documents without actually reading them, it does not and should not absolve them from following the same rules we have all had to follow. I am a rule follower. I am not ashamed of it. I am teaching my child good character. I expect my neighbors can afford me the same respect in return. We had a concern and the property management company didn't come down here because it's such a commute. So the resident that caused the tension pleaded ignorant to the rules and lied about the progression of the project leading them to believe it was almost done. Three days before the Trustees voted on it, without investigating, this resident hired a contractor to almost finish the job in a day and a half to back up the lie this person had already told. We had offered to pay half for what needed to be fixed BEFORE he could be allowed to do what he was doing to which he told me I could pay for it myself but he couldn't because he needed to furnish his unit. I am now forced to deal with the situation at odd hours of the morning when he stumbles in after being out all night. The management company told me if the issue persisted they would force him to remove his project and abide by the rules, once again making us out to be the bad guys. JBP said it's out of their hands because the board made the decision and all they can do is pass down the sentencing. Which leads me to ask why we even need them at all???

Regarding parking: For everyone's information, the Trustee members are on a “Tow List” with the police department and have the ability to tow someone in your spot. We too are trying to get on that list since the Trustees either play stupid or are just to lazy to step up to the plate. One needs to be willing and able to effect change in this community. Those who are in a position to do so and have not shown they can do so, need to vacate the seats immediately.

To “Summer Hill Social”: I support your cause and efforts to make this a desirable community to reside in, instead of the desirable place to get out of. I have been here for nearly five years and despise living here. Most of the neighbors are fantastic but the unresolved issues are troublesome as well as the lack of action from those who have the ability and to enforce our laws. We also bought during the height of the market as I assume a considerable amount of us did. We were pleased with the low condo fees, but now they're getting up there. If we are to afford our mortgages and these consistently rising condo fees we're all going to be looking for second and third jobs to keep up since most of us have lost our equity. There are so many ways to improve this community but still nothing is done.

To Bumpbust: Is it the same car(s) over and over? If so I'd leave a note advising them of their infraction and that further action will be taken if they continue to park in your OWNED spot.

As for JBP... In a word they SUCK!!! Jeff is useless. I've had many issues with a former upstairs neighbor who was making false noise accusations. When I was fined $500 for hammering at 10pm when I was actually hammering at 10 am I was told "Oh well those are the rules." Funny thing is, according to the Condo Doc's first offense noise fine is $50. I've been treated better at the DMV then I have with JBP.

I've written numerous letters in regards to people parking in front of the fire hydrant. Mass Gen Law states you must leave "10 feet on either side for access (MGL Ch. 89 Section 7a). JBP ignored them. Additionally, I've also complained about Summer Hill becoming a storage yard for a landscape company. This is not allowed by two of the Condo Doc's reg's. One, you cannot run a business on the property. Two, no trailers are allowed on the property. Guess how JBP has replied???? THEY HAVEN'T. So glad they work for US! So by their non-actions I now can safely assume that trailers are in fact allowed. So everyone who wants one should be able to store their pop-up camp trailers, boat trailers, etal on the property. To enforce the rules on one and not another constitutes discrimination. Which could open the Summer Hill Boards of Trustees and JPB to lawsuits.

Every time I complain to JBP I get told "this is a Board of Trustee's matter. Not ours." Just try and contact a member of the board. I know for a fact the prior to his moving the former president of the SHC board was left to make almost every decision. When he got sick you'd have thought that one of the other slackers on the board would have stepped up to the plate. They didn't. I guess some people just need a title after their name to feel important about themselves.

Mrs.Ceda said...

I feel that the comment "this is not a playground" is a little harsh. What about the Moms/ Dads who are limited to one vehicle per family and are unable to drive to the parks you suggested during the day? What are they supposed to tell their children when they want to go out and play? "Sorry, you might get hit by a car?" It's not like we're asking for a big elaborate playground. Perhaps a sandbox and a swingset. Just somewhere for the families who are stuck in the house to go.
Last time I checked, it wasn't against the rules to have children, nor to want to have a safe place close to home for them to play.

After reading all the blogs I think we should have a meeting - I will be willing to hold one.It sounds as though we should do it sooner than later.

Please answer this blog on what might be a good day and time - a week night would probably work out best as weekends are busy for a lot of people.

Let me know, my name is Paula Beard, Condo Owner.

My husband and I are totally in for this meeting as long as it does not involve the board of trustees from either side. I think it's time we got together and decided what we want and need here without giving the board time to plan their excuses and lies. As far as I'm concerned they all need to go.
Our schedules are pretty open at night, though I am also home during the day with our child.

Do you all even realize that Jeff is not the direct property manager. He has not been for more than 10 months. He handles more complicated issues with the property and assists the managers and staff at JBPS and deals directly with the board. If you have an issue with how something was handled, call their VP, Kass Litwan, and she will be happy to speak with you and work with the manager. All JBPS tries to do is represent the best interests of the association which includes fines and enforcement of rules and regulations – they are doing their jobs – if they did not sending warnings, or late fees, or fines, they would not be doing their jobs. If you want to be on the board, run for the board, but it’s a thankless and not easy job

Summer Hill Social said...

I will be glad to attend any meeting. This is very frustrating. I believe the trustees will have to have the annual meeting soon.

I still have a problem with the amount of money paid to Jeff's friend who is an attorney for the septic problems.

I believe there are better ways to save money. Perhaps we can get a local landscaping company or buy a plow and have Paul remove the snow during the winter. I am sure there are other ideas.

I do understand that being a trustee is a thankless job but they do not appear to want to work with us. On two different occassions I requested that I be allowed to attend the meeting. My requests have never been acknowledged.

Who is Ohkonstantinex? Gee I wonder? It’s Jeff Birenbaum the guy in charge of our management company! We all know it. And the Mark guy gee let me guess, its probably your friend Mark that likes to drive around our parking lot. We’ve all seen him learking around, kind of scary.
We’re not stupid. And for Marks comment; do you think the owner has time to write in a blog. Obviously he does and not very professional if him to write the things he does. Neither of you must be married? I cannot imagine anyone wanting to be with such shady, disrespectful boys like yourselves.
Basically in a nut shell we all would like to see you just fall of the earth. You’re useless to all of us.

This is posted on the JB Property web site:

It's funny that we're being told to run for a trustee position when TWO SEATS HAVE BEEN FILLED WITH NO VOTES AND NO RESIDENTS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THESE PEOPLE. Does anyone else see an issue with this???!!!

Secondly, the person telling us what Jeff's job description is... Too funny!! First, because this person seems to be the ONLY one who thinks Jeff is worthy of the air he breathes. He has accomplished exactly NOTHING!! He is condesending to speak to IF you can even speak with him. Secondly, the job description of JBP's contribution to our community... Enforcing rules and such... NOT REALLY!!! JBP and the Trustee's continuously bend the rules in favor of whichever paths hold the least resistance (and work) for them. I have seen them not follow the rules to which they agreed to abide by and then agreed to enforce once accepting the position as a trustee. They have basically told us by their actions and lack thereof, that we can do whatever we want as long as they don't catch us until we're almost done with whatever it is we're doing that does not follow the rules of our community.
What's good for one is good for all, and as soon as you start to selectively enforce rules, you leave it open for more people to follow suit and disreagrd the rules as well. Their job is to enforce the rules (or amend as needed with community support), NOT TO INTERPRET THEM.

Lastly, JBP personnel contributing to this blog: You are fooling no one. And my guess is that you have dug yourself a deeper hole by insulting our intelligence. This is a mistake you have already made publicly, it's out there now and you can never take it back. All actions have consequences. Taking part in this blog shows YOUR ignorance. Believing no one would know who you are and what handle's you're using is insulting to our intelligence. I repeat, ALL actions have CONSEQUENCES.

So my frustration level is at an all time high in living here. I just called the cops and was told that they can not do anything to help me becuase this is private property. So I started asking them questions. They said that they can't even d...o anything about noise disturbances or loud partys. For that matter when the drunks are partying in the fire lane behind my building and urinating on the bushes, they can't do anything about that either. WTF !!! They refuesed to even come.
Someone please tell me, Why do I pay condo fees and why do i pay taxes if everyone passes the buck and its "no ones " resposabilty.

Before I get called a coward by the spouse of one of the Board members my name is Ean Connell I live in 6B-4. So the only cowards here are the board members.

To the Board of Trustee's: Those of you who are TEMPORARY appointments YOU DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE WAY THINGS ARE RUN HERE UNTIL YOU ARE A REAL MEMBER OF THE BOARD. Read your condo doc's. If you, the TEMPORARY, members of the board don't like criticism from residents you have 2 choices; grow thicker skin or leave. I'd choose the latter for you.

Point in fact Bobby your wife was going to work for JB Properties. You and I both know the only reason she didn't take the job is because of the heat she received from the unit owners. So if no one complained she would have taken the job. We all know you can't be beholden to two bosses. Her's would have been JBP and the Unit owners. I hope that they haven't forgotten that fact... THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES WORK FOR US!!!

Since your so tough why don't you come confront me instead of Lauren. You coward.

So after being reprimanded by the husband of a "board member," I have deleted my last posts because I was told my information was wrong. I will once again, check my information and then repost MY concerns. I have also been informed that Alison does not operate the Facebook page for Summer Hill and therefore: Alison, I publicly apologize for my incorrect information. I apologize for "using your name." And for the record: I posted my comments about double dipping with the board seat and JBP when is was true, before you decided you weren't going to take the position after all. I posted that on May 2nd & at that time it was absolutely accurate. Everyone get that?? She is supposedly NOT working for JBP. However, remaining in a board seat I fail to see how things are going to change with the exception of a paycheck.
That being said, I do not see how anyone would expect not to be called out for something a resident felt was wrong. That’s part of serving on the board. So I guess I'm a bit fuzzy on where different people draw the line. If I were a board member and I did something that residents questioned I'd expect to be called out on it by name, because my actions are my actions.
I was also told I am "cowardly" for posting my opinions and concerns "anonymously." So, my name is Lauren and I live in building 6B right in the front of the building. If you want to tell me you think I'm wrong & cowardly, join the club. I'm here most of the time. You too, are entitled to your own opinions. I, however, respect others opinions even when they are not the same as my own. A fresh perspective can be very beneficial. It is no secret I am fed up with the board and JBP. I have been let down by both, and am disliked by 2 board members whom have passed judgment on me without just cause & see no wrong in it.

I have been here for 5 years and have gone to the board for assistance many times and always with no resolutions. I have been required to follow all of our bylaws but the board has not required that of certain residents and I found that infuriating. So yes, I am angry with the "board" both new and old. That is my opinion. I feel "the board" has let me down on more than one occasion, yet have no trouble fining me for having a quarter of an inch of my tire on the grass by accident when the person in front of me has their tires 2 feet past the edge, no warning. Or been fined $500 for blasting music after midnight several nights in one week, which I'm STILL trying to figure out how that would be possible without waking my toddler sleeping in the next room. I have been told I was the cause of the nightmare and reason why my previous neighbor used to try to drop lit matches on me when I was on my patio, and that it was my fault when she'd block my car in my assigned spot, with me and my son in it trying to instigate a fight! Then I was told I was out of line for being excited when she moved. . . So sorry I value the safety of myself and my family (and my hair for that matter). This is why I didn't respect the previous board. The reason I am frustrated with this "board" is because I voiced my concerns and the bylaws and was basically told "yeah, what my neighbor was doing was against the rules, but we're going to let him get away with it but you can give it a month or two & if the issue continues you can tell JBP & they‘ll make him remove it." So instead of doing it right the first time, I can be the jerk & make him remove it. Gee, thanks. I feel my neighbor intentionally played dirty pool with the project from the beginning for selfish reasons, but I don’t want to be “that neighbor” either. So my choice is to have said neighbor impede on my quality of life, or make him rip it out. Either way I feel bad & I don’t know why I do since my neighbor, board members, & JBP could care less. Whether or not ALL the current board members were part of that decision or not, my anger is directed at the "board" because it was a “board” decision. I still suffer the consequences of their actions, like the banging and loud music the other night prohibiting my 3 year old from sleeping well past his bedtime. Why is my quality of life any less important? Both the resident and the boards refusal to enforce our bylaws states exactly that no matter how you slice it. I feel (again, my opinion) I FEEL like the "board" discriminates based on who they like or dislike instead of just doing the job they agreed to do. Now, please keep in mind that not all current board members may be like this, however, I feel there is no change in this practice.. I believe in the accountability of people in power whether public or private sector. If you don’t want your morality & integrity called into question then don’t do anything which would warrant it. If you don’t want to be in the spotlight, don’t take a position that is in one.

I have left out the names of everyone because apparently it's "wrong, rude, & disrespectful." However, I do feel the board members who represent us should be held accountible for any and all actions pertaining to the operations of Summer Hill.

Maybe the board members should realize that as their boss, so to speak, we have every right to question their decisions. Those board members who don't like to be questioned shouldn't be a board member. They are in the same position as the President of the United States therefore we have the right to question them. They, like the President, can either get used to it or step down.

Thank you to the board members for selecting this choice of mulch. Now when I open the windows I can enjoy the nauseating stench of horse poop. Great choice. That's what you get when you deliberately pick the bottom of the barrel.
Just curious, but if Summer Hill is no longer "in the red" as you say crediting the board of trustees for getting us back "in the black," then why does Summer Hill smell like a barn?

My personal feeling is that Summer Hill is no longer in the red because of the new laws requiring banks to pay all back owed condo fees on foreclosed units, which has given Summer Hill some sizable checks.

i have a couple questions. are we allowed to have flags on or porches, christmas lights or any outside decorations; can we extend or patios. i have an assigned parking spot but choose to park on marc dr. sometimes i park 2 of my 4 cars and trucks on marc dr. and the 3rd in my assigned spot and my 4th truck in any foreclesed unit spot. also i see my neighbor parks both their car and suv on marc dr and was just wondering if i could use their assigned spot, since they dont need it.
also is mulch made from wood chips or manure. i always thought mulch was made from wood chips, i am a landscaper by trade and when mulch is spread its has an aroma until it dries out, no matter the quality of mulch, just saying. i am very excited about the elections coming up. Mr. Cotti has my vote and cant wait till he sucks all of the family fun atmosphere out of summer hill and makes its a cash cow.
